Online Counselling
Online counseling, also known as cybercounseling, is talking to a counselor via secure e-mail. PrivacEmail (pronounced "privacy mail") is the name of the technology that we use to protect the privacy of our cybercounseling conversations. PrivacEmail is very similar to Hotmail or Yahoo mail, except that it is highly secure.
"How long will it take before I get a cybercounselling reply?"
I give personal replies, not automated responses. You can expect to receive a personal cybercounselling reply within three business days after I receive your payment. If you don't get a reply within that time-frame, please email me at
lyn@pro.privacemail.com
PLEASE NOTE: You must use the Pay Pal system to pay for each of my replies. I DO NOT send my reply until I receive your payment and consent for treatment form.
Families who have adopted through the state can email me for discounted prices at lyn@pro.privacemail.com or call me at:
(541) 514 5572.
Emergency situations, such as someone considering suicide or homicide, need immediate attention and online services are not practical in these areas. I want to make sure you realize that, if any kind of emergency is happening where you are located, you will need to handle it without the help of AdoptionSupportOnline. It just doesn't make sense to send me a message, hoping that I will be able to help you at that moment. I do check for incoming PrivacEmail messages often, usually once per day (during regular office hours). I can definitely help you with what happens AFTER an emergency. But I am powerless to help you while the emergency is happening.
I have included a Safety Management page from Oregon Post Adoption Resource Center (ORPARC) especially to help "cyberclients" know how to get help in a crisis. Please click here to view the Safety Managment page .
